When I start my computer the num lock and scroll lock flash and my computer beeps.?

I have a dell inspiron 1521 (past warranty) and just this morning when I went to turn it on the num lock and scroll flash and the computer beeps. I have never had this problem before and I have had this laptop for two years. Any help with this would be great, I rely on my laptop for everything. Thanks.

You are hearing the Bios code beeps
This code will tell you what the problem is.
Bios emitted codes come in short or/and long beeps.
Different Bios manufacturers have different Bios codes
You need to find out which manufacturer your Bios chip comes from and go to their web site for the codes and their meanings.
Often a loose adapter card such as a video card or sound card or Ram modules will emit codes. Check to see that all the cards and cables are well attached and seated in their slots.
